Unlocking New Opportunities in the Solar PV Value Chain

ROGEAP empowers successful non-solar businesses to integrate sustainable energy solutions and thrive in the off-grid solar market.

ROGEAP! Who We Are

The Regional Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) is a transformative initiative funded by the World Bank, the Clean Technology Fund, the Directorate General for International Cooperation (DGIS), and the Government of the Netherlands. Implemented by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD), our mission is to create a robust regional market for off-grid solar products and increase access to sustainable electricity across West Africa.

ROGEAP is set to revolutionize the off grid solar landscape by enabling non solar businesses to enter the solar photovoltaic (PV) value chain. We invite you to explore how non-solar businesses can leverage their strengths, integrate solar solutions, and contribute to a sustainable energy future.

Why Non-Solar Business

Despite the growing popularity of off-grid solar technology in West Africa, the region still struggles to keep pace with rapid population growth and increasing energy demand/need due to the gap between the power sector’s infrastructure needs and the availability of necessary resources and expertise to expand electrification hence the relevance of OGS solutions particularly for rural locations.
Thereby creating a huge gap in energy demand and supply!(In West Africa, rural electrification rates are still below 40%). And an opportunity to leverage successful local businesses operating in similar or related industries as new entrants to the standalone solar industry while also providing the businesses with an opportunity to expand their businesses and increase their revenue.
